Louisiana Deferred Compensation Program (DCP)

Under Louisiana House Bill 547 of 2014 regular session:
District plans must follow ERISHA rules. If district pays with public funds and/or has teachers retirement plan (LASERS, DROP, etc), then the state plan may be utilized as an option for a 457b program. Many district human resource departments are unaware of this. Call up louisiana DCP before you sign into a high priced annuity with your local insurance salesman.

Funds placed in trust (State cannot pull funds in a pinch).
Much better fund options than most district plans. There's even a low cost management option where they assist you in deciding what's best for your particular situation.
Participants may use any of the core funds as well as participate in a self-directed brokerage account (SDBA) through Ameritrade.

$15/Quarter (only if using SDBA through Ameritrade)

Optional Managment Option:
$0.125 per $1000 in account
Advised Assets by national "Empower Retirement"
