  1. Thank you for always providing clarity.
  2. Brownfoot, I work in Alvin ISD. The admin and posters here on this site are very informative and have a lot knowledge. I had an AXA account originally; however I soon found the fees and funds were not beneficial to me after coming over here talking with everyone. I now have a fidelity account and just recently changed my allocations and funds thanks to Ed and Krow. Here is the link to a very productive and thorough conversation from several weeks ago. By switching my funds to the the three Ed and KRow suggested I have already started to see growth; whereas in the original funds I selected were stagnant and more fee cost. I hope this helps Brownfoot.
  3. KRow36 Thank you for checking into this! I’ve followed your advice. I’ve in posted material from this site in our teachers lounge.
  4. Nevermind, I found them! Good morning Krow36! Thank you for your response. I am currently on Fidelity's site now. I am searching for the funds you and Ed recommended but can not seem to locate them. In what particular area should I search?

  6. Let me start by saying: I found this site by accident towards the end of last school year. I am so glad that I did. Starting into a new profession of teaching I was eager to contribute to any one that would take my money. However, I soon realized that the AXA financial was not the way to go; thanks to many of you in this forum. At the encouragement of some of the posters I was informed to sign up with Fidelity. I’ve done that but I need more guidance as to what specific funds I should send money. Below is how much I have put in and also where it’s going.
  7. Hi Tony, can you explain what equities are? I hope this isn’t a dumb question.

  9. As I continue to search for information regarding my school district and 403 B information. I came across this and wanted to provide the link. It is about a contribution matching based on attendance. https://www.alvinisd.net/cms/lib03/TX01001897/Centricity/Domain/266/Employee Incentive Pan - 401a.pdf
  10. EdLaFave and Krow36 I appreciate the time and effort in your responses. You two have extremely helped me out and I'm glad I stumbled upon this forum. I can't reiterate how grateful I am. Thank you.
  11. Thank you, Tony noted. I'll look at the other threads.
  12. Greetings, it's JT. Based on what I have researched and the help of this website (You guys are awesome) I will be using Fidelity but now sure where to start. They seem to have a lot of different options. Based on my age 36 and when I plan to retire 66 I need to find the best option for me. Is it me or is there a lot of different options to choose from?
  13. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Yesterday a representative from National Life Group stopped by the school. I listened in on her presentation and she mentioned how her company is designed to help teachers and are backed by teachers across the country. Are you familiar with them? Also do I need to contact Fidelity Investments, I believe I read on here how they do not have advisers.

  15. Good evening, I'm looking for a company where I can invest my 403B. After reading the reviews about AXA I have realized that I may have jumped the gun too soon to invest with them. I am a first year teacher and began investing with AXA about a month ago. After reading the post on here about AXA I have realized I need to discontinue with them and look for another company to handle my retirement. Any suggestions?
