  1. Hello I am using the NEA Self Directed plan through Security Benefit (thank you for telling me about this option) --can anyone offer any advice about how to I should be breaking out my investment options? I am currently using this ratio: Vanguard Total Stock Market = 70% · Vanguard Total Int’l Stock Market = 10% · Vanguard Intermediate Term Bond = 20% I have been teaching for 20 years and I plan to teach about 10 more years. Someone told me my allocations are very conservative---too conservative? Any advice or help is appreciated. Thank you.
  2. I want to thank you all for helping me getting into the Security Benefit NEA Self Directed Plan. My school district and/or plan manager has not hassled me about it all, it seemed to get rather seamlessly. Now I just need to decide if I should set up a Roth IRA to augment it or keep adding all my money into this plan. Thanks again!
  3. Hi Guys I have submitted the NEA Direct invest paperwork to Security Benefit.... Should my next move be to call the Security Benefit helpline (800 747 3942) to move things forward? Or what should I do next ? I just don't want to do the wrong thing so they throw a roadblock in my way. Thank you for your help on this!!!!!
  4. They do not contribute to my account. I will fill out the application and see where it goes---thank you for everything! I will be in touch!!!
  5. Thanks for all your advice---I will look into the NEA self directed plan, I'm not sure my school district will allow me to enroll. I am a teacher in Vermont---I will look into it and be in touch! Thank you.
  6. Hello How do I know if my 403B is bad in terms of fees? I was going to email the "plan manager" for my Security Benefit 403B, but I don't know what questions to ask him to find out good information. Is there a generic list of questions to ask to find out if my fees are too high? Thank you.
