I understand that employees at some large universities already have the ability to invest in Roth 403(b)s through TIAA-CREF. I called them about 6 months ago and they indicated this option would be available to all of its institutions by the end of the year. I have heard nothing since. Has anyone heard any other updates?
About a year ago, I seem to remember reading either on this website or in a magazine article that one of the differences between a 401k and a 403b is that an employee in a 403b can legally choose a fund family outside those which the employer has elected to sponsor. Is this true?
