Tiaa Traditional Annuity

Recommended Posts

Greetings, All --

I was considering moving some of my 403b money from the CREF Bond Fund to TIAA Traditional Annuity. I figure the yields are similar, and there is no downside to the Traditional Annuity (some say that bonds are quite expensive at this point). Does anyone see anything wrong with doing this?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

I think that is a wise move. There is no upside potential (or very, very little) in the bond fund, yet it has a good possibility of downside. I recommend the fixed account for your fixed portion of your portfolio - no downside, no lock-ups (some restrictions), and a potential for higher interest rates if rates rise in the future.
