Are School districts required by law to offer their teachers the option of being paid over a 9 month period instead of 12 months? If so are they then required to make the 403b reduction payment on a 9 month basis, or can they spread the 9 months of deductions over 12 payments to the insurer?

Hi,

Depends on your pay roll department. some are flexible some are not. The only law is that you cannot go over the maximum tax deferred allowed per tax year. My school district has an automatic cutoff, when the maximum is reached.
