Transfers From 457b While Still Employed With Employer

Recommended Posts

I can contribute to a 457b with my school system, but only to high cost variable annuity products. Is it possible to do a transfer (such as a 90-24 with 403b) to, say, a Trad. IRA with another company such as Vanguard? This would be while still employed with the same school system. I think there is at least one company on my school sytem's list that does not charge a surrender fee from the 457. Thanks!!

VAteacher, this was posted earlier on the diehards site (it might be your post?). The answer is NO!

Here is the link.

VAteacher, is your 403(b) plan any better?

I wish 457(b) plans had the soon to expire transfer option of the 403(b) program!
