Estimates of actual change from these workshops would be pure speculation. There is ZERO follow up and nobody to talk to after they leave.

"...our advisory committee! Now that's a change in a great direction.

The teachers union will be a challenge because there are old die-hards who still think that the district is taking union members money without their permission and these, so-called leaders, do not hear (what we all know here about auto-enroll) that anybody can opt out at any time.

That's too bad.

That's terrific!

Without permission? I'm sure they include language that tells them where it's going and tells them they can opt out. Taking money? That is so ridiculous. They do this in private industry with 401k's. That is regrettable to hear.

Of course, they are told that it is voluntary, but the trust between the union and the district has always been a little above zero for other issues, and these issues overlap into this topic.

In the last negotiations, the union turned down auto enroll at the negotiating table. Remember that some of those leaders might be listening to the annuity salespeople. It's nothing new or corrupt. It is the simple human to human relationship with some of the annuity agents and district employees personal and cozy relationships goes back for decades.
