Employer Fiduciary Responsibilities

Recommended Posts

My husband is beginning a new job in a school district which currently does not have a 457 plan. (They do have 403b plans). In talking with the business manager, she raised some concerns about the district's fiduciary responsibilities with 457 plans. Can someone speak to this concern and how we might assuage any worries about this so that we can get a 457 plan started?

Thanks!

I believe all of the 50 states have 457(b) plans for their employees and some offer their Plan to local public employers like school districts. Let us know if your state is one that does. If so, your concerns are addressed by the State government.

Peace and hope,

Thank you. Yes; the state is Connecticut, and my husband's previous district in CT provided a 457 plan as does my school district in CT. So, I should check with what department of state government? Thanks!
